Greater Greater Washington Endorses Brad Howard for Re-election for Commissioner

GGWash highlights Howard’s vision for more housing that helps longtime residents stay and build wealth

WASHINGTON — Greater Greater Washington (GGWash), a regional advocate for housing, public transportation and walkable communities, has endorsed Brad Howard for reelection to Advisory Neighborhood Commission seat 1E01 in the November 3 election.

“I want Park View to be a neighborhood where people can afford to put down roots, raise a family and stay as they grow older,” said Howard. “That means building more homes, making our streets safer and demanding city services that keep pace with our neighborhood’s needs. I’m proud to have GGWash’s support as we keep working toward that future.”

In its endorsement, GGWash highlighted Howard’s proposal to make it easier for longtime homeowners and seniors to add housing on their properties, helping create more homes while giving existing residents opportunities to build wealth and generate retirement income. The organization concluded: “Howard deserves your vote.”

Howard’s first-term record includes helping Park View homeowners recover access to a $660,000 structural-defect warranty bond and securing commitments from the District for better disclosure of warranty records and clearer guidance for condominium associations. He also pressed Pepco until it replaced failing equipment serving the neighborhood and won passage of resolutions demanding protections against major development projects shifting utility costs onto residents.

“Building more homes should create opportunities for the people who already live here, too,” said Howard. “We can welcome new neighbors while helping longtime residents stay, build financial security and benefit from our neighborhood’s future. I’m proud to have GGWash’s support for that work.”

Howard represents northern Park View and serves as secretary of ANC 1E. He is seeking a second term under the campaign’s theme, “Progress for Park View.”
