WASHINGTON, D.C. — Commissioner Brad Howard was elected by his fellow commissioners to serve as Engagement Secretary for Advisory Neighborhood Commission 1E, which represents the neighborhoods of Park View, Pleasant Plains, and Howard University.

In this role, Howard will lead efforts to increase community awareness, improve public access to ANC updates, and strengthen neighborhood participation in local decision-making. The position is part of ANC 1E’s commitment to transparent, accessible, and responsive governance.

"I'm honored to take on this new role and committed to making sure neighbors are not only informed but empowered to shape what happens in our community," said Commissioner Howard. "From public safety to development to everyday city services, we need to close the gap between local government and the people it serves."

Howard, a Park View resident and small business owner, was elected to the Commission in November 2024 and began his term in January 2025. In addition to his service on ANC 1E, he is a longtime Democratic strategist and founder of the Corcoran Street Group, a public affairs consulting firm based in D.C.
