Check your voter registration information with the D.C. Board of Elections. Make sure your address is current so your ballot reaches you.

You can register to vote online, by mail, or in person. D.C. also offers same-day registration during early voting and on Election Day.

The deadline to register online or for your mailed registration application to be received is Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026.

Missed the deadline? You can still register and vote at any D.C. vote center during early voting or on Election Day. Bring proof of residence showing your name and current D.C. address. See acceptable documents.

The D.C. Board of Elections lists Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, as the tentative start date for mailing ballots to registered voters. Check DCBOE.org for updates.

Early voting runs from Monday, Oct. 26, through Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026. Vote centers are open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

You may vote at any D.C. vote center, regardless of where you live in the District. You can also return your mail ballot by mail, at an official ballot drop box, or at an open vote center.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026. Vote centers are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you are in line by 8 p.m., you can vote.
